WWII combat soldiers wore uniforms of dark green wool year-round. The trousers were bloused over the boots. You'll find several Websites with detailed photos.

The material that shirts and pants were made of was primarily made of cotton. Usually tan or olive drab (green) in color to blend in with terrain. Flannel and khaki shirts were also worn.

They wore camo uniforms that had the green design to be able to hide in the forest. Now a days that is what we wear but ours is undedectable on infrared camera and it has more of a design to it where as back in the day it was mainly just green with patches on it.
