A spiral perm will give you lovely, loose curls. It uses relatively large rollers and they are rolled at an angle that gets the hair to lay in a spiral around the roller, like the stripes on a barber pole, rather than like sheets in a paper towel roll as in a standard perm.

The best kind of perm would be a body perm. This kind of per is for all hair types and will bring out the waver, curles and volume in your hair. Leaving on to long will not work and not leaving it on long enough will not work either. Just read the instructions.

A spiral perm that utilizes large perm rods will produce the effect of loose curls. The size of the perm rods determine the shape of the curl.

Tell your hairstylist the curl you are looking for. For loose curls you will want bigger rods and a "mild perm".

A body wave perm is always best for nice loose curls. Also for longer hair a spiral perm rolled with large rods is the way to go. The larger the rod, the looser the curls will be as a general rule of thumb.

This perm has slight waves. It is done with big rollers and hair is wrapped 1 1/2 to 2 times
