What kind of economic system is used in the United States?

The US economy, the world's largest national economy, is made up of individuals, business/labor, and social institutions. Generally, it is a market economy comprised of producers and consumers that determine the need for goods and services, and the price of those goods and services.

They use Capitalism which is when you have people who are able to start their own business and can profit off of their own work.

The US operates a mixed economy, however most would agree that it is towards the more free market end of the spectrum.

Unfortunately it is a market with little mix. The rich get richer and the poor get taxed to death. Is there a middle class?
