Goldfish get white spots called ick. The spots are on the body and the fins. Very contagious, but if caught early can be treated with something from the pet store. Another problem is fungus infections. These can also be treated if caught early.

Goldfish can get many kinds of diseases. Flukes, anchor worms, and in rare cases hole in head disease. If its a parasite I'd recomend Tetra Parasite Guard or similar product.

One disease very common in goldfish is whitespot which is caused by a parasite entering the skin of the fish. Dropsy is a condition where the scales of the fish stand up on end. Pop-eye is another condition where the eyes of the fish protrude from their head.

The main disease that a gold fish can get is reddening of its tail followed by reddening of its fins. The fish stops eating properly and its movements also stop to a greater extent.
