Usually gouramis do not require salt in their water. The suggestion of salt is to help with their slime coat. For this, you would use marine salt, not "aquarium salt". You should find out what type of water the gouramis that you are about to purchase are in and simulate that environment.

You do not need salt for guoramis. I have kept them for about 8 years and have never added salt to any of my aquariums. The trick to have beautiful guorami is a regular feeding schedule with frozen foods. They just love it, also they go crazy for blood worms.

Gouramis don't need any aquarium salt to be added into their tank. If you're going to add some salt then any kind of "aquarium" salt, that is sold in a pet store will be fine.

You do not need any aquarium salt for Gouramis. They are a freshwater fish and salt would harm them if used for a long period of time. Make sure you have clean water for gouramis and test the water at least twice a month, along with bi monthly water changes.
