The treatment often involves steps to prevent bleeding. Antacids are the usual mainstay of treatment. H2 blocking agents such as cimetidine or ranitidane are indicated in gastritis under certain circumstances.

There is none that you can take while you have gastritis. You will have to switch over to pain meds like acetaminophen. There is some anti-inflammatory herbs that can be taken. They are Green tea, Cat's claw(Uncaria tomentosa), Reishi mushroom, Olive leaf, and Peppermint. All of these help with the inflammatory.

You would be better off finding out what is causing your inflammation. Contact your doctor and ask him to recommend a pain specialist. A pain specialist will take into account the cause of your pain and will recommend treatments based on your medical history.
