What is twitching thumb disease?

A relative told me she had this disease and I have never heard of it.

They are messing with you. There is no such disease as twitching thumb disease. Your relative was just playing a joke on you or messing with you. You should try to get your relative back. Invent your own disease and next time you are at a family gathering, tell the relative that you have it.

No such documented disease exists, but muscle fasciculations in the thumb can occur. Oftentimes these are benign and caused by diet deficiencies, drug side effects, or even anxiety and stress. However, just to be safe, see your primary care physician, as these twitches can also be an indication of more serious nervous system disorders.

There is no documented "twitching thumb disease;" however, many conditions can cause muscle spasms, including some neurological diseases or Lyme disease.
