Tundra weather is extremely cold most of the year (below freezing), with summers being short in duration. Without trees, it is also very windy. Additionally, there is very little snowfall, and even less rain.

Tundra weather is bitterly cold and windy. With little in the form of woodland to act as a windbreak, it can howl at a constant 40+ mph speed day in and day out. Ironically you will need to worry about sunburn to your face as it can be bright and the snow reflects up.

Tundra weather tends to be chilly to cold with a short summer season. I believe you are likely to find permafrost in tundra regions and this would indicate that the average temperatures are never high enough to completely thaw the ground. Multiple layers of clothing would be indicated for this environment.
