A silver quarter has 0. 18 ounces of silver so the minimum value would be 0. 18 times the current silver price which is 16. 35 as of October 31 2009. The minimum value would be 2. 94. Quarters made before 1932 are worth more than the silver price depending on condition mintage, and the mint where it was made.

The values of silver quarters vary depending on the silver content, condition of the coin, rarity in the year it was made, and mint where it was made. Your best bet to find out is to find a REPUTABLE coindealer and have them assess the coins for you. Barring that, there are several coin books where you can check values.

Silver quarters are worth 25 cents at the store, but to many silver collectors they are worth more because of their silver content. Many silver collectors will pay up to four times face value for silver dimes and quarters.
