Founder can be very painful and serious if left untreated. There are special shoes to balance the foot and alleviate founder.

It's caused by a horse over eating so take away all food. Call your Vet, they will administer anti inflammatory drugs. Then in the future your farrier will work to correct the infected hoof. It can be life threatening if not treated.
