After confirmation by a veterinarian of a stroke, there are several options. If the cat is functionally sound, There are several treatment alternatives, including therapy to regain or retain muscles in particular areas. A sedative may be given to calm anxiety. Anti-inflammatories and diuretics may also be given. Your veterinarian will inform you of the course of treatment.

Depends on whether it is an ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke - they both require immediate veterinary attention. Animal should be kept warm and dry and turned regularly to discourage bed sores. The cat may need medication. Most animals should recover in 2-3 weeks. Good luck.

There isn't much that you can do besides take it to the vet. If it has become paralyzed or is unable to eat, it may have to be put to sleep.
