Running will not automatically amke you lose weight if you continue to eat terrible food in large quantities. It will help you maintain a trim, athletic figure and keep your muscles toned. It is also a great way to stay healthy. The only thing that running can be bad for are your knees.

Running does not automatically guarantee that you will lose weight. The aerobic activity burns calories. The number of calories burned depends on a number a factors like weight, running speed, and length of activity. Weight will only be lost if the diet matches the activity level. The number of calories consumed should be less than the number of calories burned.

When you run, you burn calories quicker than walking. You will lose weight if you can figure how many calories you burn running and that calorie burn is more than the amount of calories you take in.

Running burns calories. If you don't eat extra food to make up for the calories burned by running, then you will lose weight over time if you keep running. Walking can do the same thing, only you need to spend more time at it, especially if you do not walk on hills.
