IHSS is an inherited disease that causes the heart to grow thick and dense so that function is impaired. IHSS is not related to heart disease; it IS heart disease.

IHSS or Idiopathic Hypertrophic Subaortic Stenosis is a congenital (meaning it is and could be inherited) medical condition or heart disease characterized by symptoms of lightheadedness and fainting. Chest pain and difficulty breathing are also symptoms of the disease. If you are experiencing these signs then please consult a cardiologist (heart doctor).

Idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis (IHSS)is a rare heart disease affecting the left ventricle of the heart. It is now typically referred to as HOCM: Hypertrophic Obstructive CardioMyopathy. This condition is hereditary and causes the heart muscle to harden and blood to the left ventricle to be blocked. There are several treatments for this type of heart disease.

IHSS, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, is a kind of heart disease. There are many different forms of heart disease, so a cardiologist should be consulted to determine exactly what kind you have.
