They are all deeply intertwined. Aspergers is genetic and genetic mishaps such as Aspergers can cause people to become depressed. This is all caused by the chemistry within the brain. Anything that goes on within the mind is all chemical. When something like depression occurs it is an imbalance within the brain.

The relationship between the three are very deeply inetertwined. It has been proven that Aspergers which is in the same spectrum as austism is genetic. Thus if the genetics of an individual can cause them to be suffering from the social debilitating issue like aspergers. Then it only makes sense in a less dramatic sense it can cause depression.

There is a strong scientific link between brain chemistry and depression. It is often a chemical imbalance that results in adult depression. Anti-depression medication usually attempts to return the brain chemistry to their natural levels. There has been no evidence that brain chemistry or depression are related to Asperger's syndrome.

Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. Medication for depression seeks to adjust the chemicals in the brain and resolve the imbalance. The cause of Asperger's is not known, but it is a neurological disorder, not a psychiatric illness.

It is clear to most researchers that neurochemical imbalances affect both depression and Asperger Syndrome; but depression is better understood, and medication treatment is more clearly effective for depression.
