The abs ring is basically used to measure wheel speed at each corner. the ring has grooves or notches that are picked up by a sensor. From this the computer ecu can calculate the wheels speed and adjust braking under severe braking. Allowing the car to stop faster and straighter.

The main purpose of the ring installed at each wheel is to measure the wheel speed for the abs system. The ring has slots on it that a sensor analysis. This allows the ecu to know individual wheel speed to adjust brake pressure to maximizing braking while allow the car to not loose traction.
