If you're introducing your boyfriend to the family members in a group, introduce the boyfriend first and present the family members. If you're introducing him to each family member individually, then it depends on age. Introduce the younger person to the older person first.

You can introduce him as your boyfriend, or significant other. Just say "Hello, this is my boyfriend, "Allan", Allan, I'd like you to meet my cousin "Marie". It doesn't have to be long and drawn out, just keep it simple, make sure they know the relationship status and get each others' names.

Do not say "Everyone, this is Bob! " Instead take him around to each individual for an introduction. Introduce the elder person first: "Bob, I'd like you to meet my mom, Mary Jones. Mom, this is Bob Smith. " Add an interesting tidbit to inspire conversation; things about work, school, travel, a pet, car that they might have in common.

Talk to the older person first: Aunt Mary, I would like to present my boyfriend, Joe. If the other is younger than Joe, "Joe, this is my little sister Emily. "
