After you've legally signed a notarized divorce mediation there is no way to legally terminate the event without the consent of both parties. Assuming both parties agree to the abolishment it's a simple case of getting a lawyer and consulting your local municipal court regarding the matter. It shouldn't take long.

You were sent to mediation to keep the judge from having to fool with the case. If you and your spouse were agreeable, mediation wouldn't be necessary. Tell you attorney you do not wish to proceed (or continue) with mediation and taht you want the case to go to trial, which is what will happen. It's your call.

The point of mediation is to keep the judge from being burdened. It also serves to encourage both parties to get it over with quickly because of the outrageous fees. If you are agreeable enough to mediate the matter, you don't need mediation. For the most part, it's ridiculous, expensive and pointless. Withdraw and ask for a trial.

You may be unable to back out if you have signed a binding agreement. If you want to get out because you want to stay together, you can both dropit.
