The primary cause of water pollution is because many people throw things in water. They throw cans and other metals. Expecially the fabrics who throw their products in water. Toxic substances are also contributing at contaminating the water. So we need to manage places where we can throw the toxic substances and avoid throwing them to water.

Very simply, it is people. We discharge our wastes into water, our smoke into air which mixes with rain, and our trash into dumps which leak into water.

Factory pollution is the #1 cause of water pollution. Since the industrial age started until the 70's and 80's it was perfectly legal for companies to dump their waste into waterways. The effects can still be seen today in the U.S. However, in other countries, this dumping still goes on.
