The aye-aye, like all lemurs, is a primitive primate native to Madagascar. It is most commonly found in the canopy of Madagascar's rain forests and deciduous forest along the eastern coast. These cute creatures build nests in the trees where they sleep. Unfortunately, these areas are commonly deforested, and aye-ayes are also found in cultivated areas on the island.
