I assume you're talking about the presidential race. Either party can send 370 delegates. The number is based on population.

They will be able to send fifty three delegates. The grand total would be seventy-one if you also included the superdelegates.

California,have more delegates than the smallest states. The Democratic Party will have twice the delegates as the Republican Party But in both cases a candidate needs a simple majority (50% +1) of delegate votes to win the nomination. Both parties have a certain number of elected delegates. Their vote will be determined by the primary/caucus in their state.

The State of Califonia will send delegates to the presidential event with an astounding number of 440 Democrats and 173 Republicans

They will have to participate in election and should win in major seats to be member and they can send a maximum of 25 members.
