Amazingly enough, the legal drinking age in England is 5. That doesn't mean that 5-year-olds can buy beer, though. Parents have to give you the alcohol. The reasonable drinking age is 16.

In order to buy and consume alcohol at a store or bar you have to be 18 years old. However, under 16 years old, you are allowed to consume alcohol within a home or at a restaurant that has been purchased by a parent or guardian. 16 year olds and older can purchase a drink with a meal.
