The Harlem Globetrotters team was started in 1926 in Chicago, IL by a man named Abe Saperstein. They play exhibition games that are known for their comedic value. They have played over 20,000 of those games to date. They have been featured in movies and television shows throughout the years.

The Harlem Globetrotters started when, in Harlem, a hot air balloon landed full of talented basketball players. These players decided to use a red, white, and blue ball instead of the traditional brown-colored leather ball. Also, these men preferred afro haircuts. Their only opponent is the Washington Generals, who typically lose every game.

In 1926 Abe Saperstein created the exhibition basketball team in Chicago, Illinois. Due to connotations as major black community the team named themselves Harlem. They have played over 25,00O exhibition games. They are well known for their entertainment than sport. The whistled version of Sweet Georgia Brown by Brother Bones's is the team's signature song.
