There's no exact beginning to the history of body ornamentation in human history - Wearing ornamentation is something we humans seem to have done since we ever became human. It's possible we simply started as a way of blending in to our environment and it developed into its own art.

Jewelry has been found in the burial grounds of even te most ancient cultures. It was considered a way to beautify and adorn oneself, but has also always been a status symbol.
