The 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 came with a 2.8 liter V6 engine which producded 125 horsepower. This years Z24 models were offered in both coupe and convertible versions. In either version the standard transmission offering was a 5 Speed manual and a 3 speed automatic was optional. Optimum performance came in models equipped with the manual transmission.

The Z24 in 1989 came with a 2.8 liter six cylinder that produced 120 horsepower at 5600 rpms. that great compared to base 2.0 of 90 horsepower.
