Natural stone is heavier than synthetic stone. It may require special attachments, and can be more expensive. Synthetic stone is more malleable and more easily shaped. It is much lighter and can be less expensive in cases where different shapes or structures are needed, instead of having to cut and form natural stone.

Natural stone has been dug out of a mine and cut to the desired shape. Synthetic stone is made of concrete and aggregate material and cast like molten metal to its current shape.

A synthetic stone is one that is made in a laboratory or in a factory, a natural stone is one where it is mined out of the earth. Natural stone have imperfections, while a synthetic one is usually as close to perfect as possible because it is made under highly controlled conditions.
