Both Lortab and Vicodin are the same active igredience. The difference is the base. Lortab is a hydrocloride (water soluable) and Viodin is a Bitrate base (fat soluable). So all hydrocodone is either those brand names or a gernaric of them.

Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain reliever. When adding acetaminophen to hydrocodone you get lortab. Acetaminophen isn't as strong as hydrocodone. It's added to increase effects of the hydrocodone.
