The difference is in the diameter of the cable. The thicker cable will be able to safely carry more current without overheating. The physical dimensions are 0. 229 inches for 3 and 0. 1662 for 6, so the higher number is the thinner cable. Also, price will increase with thicker cable since it contains more copper.

Actually it called 3core wire or 6core wire. In three core wire you will find 3 copper wire which use for light electrical things like IRON, COMPUTER, TV and in six core wire you will find 6 copper wire and that used for heavy electrical things like AC, WATERHEATER etc.

The main difference is that the electrical 6-wire has 6 wires whereas the electrical 3-wire only has 3. There are a few other minor differences such as which one is better but that's basically it.

The easiest and most simple difference is exactly as the numbers say. A six wire has six conductors in it and a three wire has three conductors in its sheathing.
