The main difference is that the judging in USAG is more difficult. USAG is more competative as they are the organization that run the national and Olympic teams.

AAU gives all gymnasts an opportunity to compete at the appropriate level. There are no eligibility or mobility requirements. USAG has specific trainig programs for each level and certain requirements to move on to the next level.

USA gymnastics is means more hours at the gym and more dedication to the sport. If your gymnast want to be a seriouse gymnast(and you are willing to spend more money) put her USAG. There for AAU allows your gymnast to be at home and spend time with her friends.

Well AAU gymnastics is more of a league and USA gymnastics is a national level sport that places emphasis on olympic standards.

AAU is essentially a high end group of clubs centered around gymnastics. USA gymnastics refers to the actual United States training program and professional team. Often times people will start on a AAU team.

AAU gymnastics is more so going to keep your daughter in the local state, where USA gymnastics could have her traveling out of state.

USAG is the track designed for the potential Olympics, College & Elite level gymnasts. AAU is more relaxed and rather "recreational" compared to USAG. Bottom line: USAG is the way to go...period.
