Since you want to get a proper bond on your repair you should use Pebble Patch, which is a patented product specifically made for patching Pebble Tec finishes. You'll also want to make sure the shotcrete surface under the Pebble Tec is not cracked, if it is you'll need to repair it as well.

I would use caulking because with patching you will need a great deal of knowledge on how to blend the pebbles and such. If you feel comfortable with this then the patching might be a better option for you as it will probably look better in the long run and probably will last longer for you.

There are color-matching repair kits available online or at your local pool center for bubbling, tearing, etc. If there is cracking underneath the pebble tec, you will want to get that fixed first to avoid future problems. Discoloration repair may be as simple as draining the pool and acid washing the pebble tec.

It is important to find out the cause and intensity of the damage before you start repairing. You can use a pebble mix to patch up. It does take a lot of patches before the damage is concealed and it definetly needs expertise to do this job.

I have two children who run and jump continuosly in our Pebbletec pool/spa. Notice I said spa. No one comes out bleeding or sore. If so,I would rip it out.
