What is the best undergraduate degree to get in order to become a stockbroker?

Most stockbrokers have a degree in finance or business. In a strong market, it's possible to become one with no degree. You must first pass a rigorous exam,the General Securities Registered Representatives Examination, and probably more state tests. Firms train employees for these tests, once they're hired.

The best undergraduate degree to obtain in order to become a successful stockbroker is a bachelor of science in Accounting. The most important skill in being able to choose stocks of profitable companies is being able to read financial statements. Financial statements are the window to the performance (excellent or poor) of any company.

You will do well majoring in many fields offered at your business school. The best choices would be finance, economics or accounting. If you can add a concentration, think about something such as business law or math.

Most stock brokers has business degrees. Specifically, most hold a bachelor of science in management, with a specialization in finance.
