Soaking in a warm (not hot) bath with oatmeal can help relieve itching. A paste of baking soda and water can also help with itching. Apply aloe vera gel to soothe the affected areas. Ibuprofen can help relieve any pain and swelling from the bites.

No matter which biting insect has bitten you, wash the affected area with soap and cold water. Cold compresses and elevation will ease the swelling; calamine lotion or an anesthetic ointment will relieve the itching. If you have a number of bites and feel general discomfort, contact a pyhsician immediately.
