Make sure your surroundings are clean. Vacuum frequently, making sure you get behind and underneath the furniture. Opt for washable sofa covers so that they can be cleaned. Ensure you strip your bed and vacuum the matress regularly. Use protective covers for the pillows. Ensure you wash bed linen frequently. Open windows to circulate air.

For dust mite allergies that fist step to relief is removal. Rid your home of any unnecessary carpets, curtain, pillow, stuffed animals, or soft furnishings. These are the places dust mites hide. Also, vacuum and wash linens regularly. The number one recommended OTC medication for dust mite allergies is Zyrtec.

Eliminating them as much as possible from your environment. It takes some effort, but it can make such a big difference! Make sure that your water gets hot enough to kill the mites when doing the wash. There are also special allergy detergents that help keep them out after washing. Then wash everything. Often.

Keep the house or where you live very clean. Take the mattress off your bed to a sunny place in your house.

Allergy shots will help with symptoms from dust mite allergies. A syrum is given once a week and then gradually only once a month.

There are really only two things you can do for any allergy; Try to avoid places where it's abundant, and to take medications. Zyrtec works wonderfully, as does it's off-brands.
