In the computer world, "best" is a relative term. The best is always their latest and greatest. However, best is not always what you need.

The most powerful Mac laptop is a 17" Macbook Pro. The larger MacBooks are more expensive, but they are powerful laptops. Personally, I'd say buy a PC laptop from Asus, but Apple computers are good too.

I would advise getting a PC. Mac laptops are renowned for breaking. They look snazzy but you're essentially paying an extra £500 for white plastic. You can quite easily set a budget and order a built to spec monster of a pc for the price of a standard mac.
