There are many good options for an indoor dog. You should choose a smaller breed, such as a Yorkie of a Chihuahua, so that they have enought room to roam.

Many toy breeds make good indoor dogs. They are easily litter box trained and don't need a lot of exercise. Yorkshire Terriers, Maltese, Pekingese, and even pugs can make great apartment dogs. You will still have to take your dogs for short walks no matter what breed.

Depending on your living situation, I would suggest a miniature Yorkie (if you have a smaller house). Otherwise, get a Labrador! Both are quite easy to potty train.

The best indoor dog would be one that is content staying indoors and does not require too much exercise. Smaller dogs often make good indoor pets.

As per latest listings a devoted Pekingese is considered the best indoor dog. Other options available are Basset hound, English toy spaniel and Bulldog.
