For the right-handed golfer, the best hand position is with the right pinkie overlapping the left index finger and the hands relaxed, so that the golf club can swing freely. The V's formed by the thumbs and index fingers of both hands should point to the right shoulder.

Both hands should be positioned near the top of the club with the left hand above for right handers and the right hand above for lefties. When gripping the club, hands should touch. If the ball is in a pit, you'll need to adjust your hands on the club.

The best hand position for your golf swing is to have your left hand up and the right hand down with the thumb of the left hand secure in the grip of the right hand. During the swing ensure that your left elbow is tight right through the follow up.
