Flushing is a sudden feeling of hot, the face will redden, and sweats can occur. Large doses of Niacin can cause flushing. Non-flushing just means it's been made to limit the amount of flushing that can occur. The main advantage to taking Niacin is that it raises the "good" cholesterol.

first, flushing is the overall feeling of warmth and skin turning red. IT is like an all over all hot flash from hell. It is a side affect of niacin. With the non flushing niacin it has a coating to make the flushing less pronounced. It will still make you flush, just not as bad.

Niacin can cause a side effect of rapid cutaneous vasodilation referred to as flushing. A "non-flushing" niacin often contains an ingredient, such as aspirin, to prevent this rapid vasodilation.
