Strep type c is similar to type A but it is more uncommon in humans. It is originally transmitted from animals, and many people can culture positive for strep type c and all that means is that they are either pet owners or have been in contact with a pet; they don't get ill.

i currentlly have stc, i am 15, the doctor strep tested me like four times even gave me a mono test they all came up negative. But he swabed my mouth and cultured it and i had stc (strep type c) im sick as a dog

Strep type C is different from regular strep which is Strep type A. Type A strep is usually found in humans while Type C usually is found in animals. Basically strep C is an infection usually in the throat or even the genitalia of humans and can occasionally be serious. Treatment is with antibiotics.

I have C-strep, it was negative on quicktests but positive in culture. Symptoms are MUCH worse than type A. Most likely got it from working at the animal shelter. Great to know that in the future as a veterinarian I'll most likely be getting this strain of strep... not.

Streptococcol Pharyngitis type C is a bacteria that is usually common in animals, and uncommon in humans. Strep Type A is commonly found in humans, although strep type c can be found amongst pet owners. The name is the only difference in these two streps. Both will Eventually go away without antibiotics.

I'm 21 and this spring I had Strep group C for 3 months b/c antibiotics were not working. Finally I just got my tonsils removed. However, its been a month and now i think i still might have it = I'm screwed! But, good luck too you!

I had a sore throat and i started to get a red splotchy rash and when i went to the doctor they didnt know what it was at first but after they sent it to the lab it came back as strep c. now im on antibiotics

My grandson,who is 18,was just diagnosed with type c strep. He had high temps for almost a week and was sent home with asperin. THEN, the surprised doctor called with the diagnosis and put him on antibiotics. They do have a dog at home,but dog has not been sick.

I was just diagnosed with strep c and I am not a pet owner and have not come in contact with any pets, so I believe anyone can this and it must be transmitted via human contact as well, unless it came from meat OI ate.

Strep throat types A and B are both types that affect humans, whereas normally type C is usually the type caught by horses, cattle, and other wild and domestic animals. In most mammals, which I assume includes humans, it causes infection. It can be dangerous if left untreated, but then again most things are.

Strep type c is usually found in animals instead of humans. generally cats or dogs. That is the main difference. Must be a pet owner. I believe treatment is the same.

Streptococcal pharyngitis type c is usually advocated for animals. It is uncommon in humans. Hence I doubt about your friend;s condition.

i am 15 and i have strep c in my system the doctor also tested me for strep and gave me a mono test too and i looked at him like i was crazy cuz this wasnt the first time my toncels have been swollen big

yup...is possible in humans. Can exhibt similar symptoms to type A....but could become worse

I'm 16 and I own a dog, but he isn't sick. I have no clue where I got it from, but it succks heck of a lot!
