It's generally speaking a non-theistic approach to spirituality, or sometimes (misnamed) open-ended theistic approach. They believe that all humans can make a spiritual connection with the universe and all humans have access to spiritual understanding.

The main tenet of this religion is that in order to be true, religion must be based on reason and natural phenomena, as opposed to leaps of faith or supernatural events. The church only acknowledges that which can be scientifically proven. They reject the notion of God or gods because that is a matter of faith, and faith isn't reasonable.

Spiritual humanism is the rationalists act of "embrassing the emotional side of human existance". While humanism does have "rational dogma" it would be hard to lable it religion.
