What is causing numbness in the left side of my face?

There are many causes, the most concerning of which could be a stroke. There are more benign causes like diabetic related infactions, but you should see a doctor.

Facial numbness usually has a neurological cause. You should see a doctor as soon as you can; although it may be something minor, it could also be a sign of a very serious condition. As for your shoulder, if you also injured your back or spine, it might be related.
