what is brain freeze?

i think that brain freeze is just another name for an ice cream headache. i actually dont get one from eating ice cream, i usually get brain freeze when i drink a lot of a very cold beverage, usually with lots of ice. it can be pretty uncomfortable.

Brain freeze is a temporary problem that people have when eating something that is too cold. When you have ice cream and get a fast headache, that's brain freeze.

When you eat something cold, veins in the roof of your mouth constrict. When your mouth warms back up, the flow of blood is increased, causing a short headache.
