He will need to consume between 1700 and 2000 calories a day. The lower end if he's not very active, the higher end if he's going all the time. Make sure to offer healthy snacks but do not restrict his food if he is overweight, offer better options.

Growing children need anywhere from 1800 to 2500 calories a day, possibly more if they are very active children. Less than 1800 can be taken if there is concerns about weight but children at 7 need sufficient nutrients to grow and that may not be possible with less than 1800 calories

Depending on the needs of the individual child, this number can fluctuate. For a general idea, a seven year old boy should consume approximately 1970 calories per day. An active child will need more, while an inactive child will need less.

This depends on the current weight and activity level of the child. 15 calories per pound is a healthy guideline.

A young child can easily intake around 1500 to 2000 calories, and still be healthy. It depends also on how active the child is. It is important to make sure he is active and not just taking in alot of empty calories without getting up and burning the extra food off.
