What is an equation for the slope of a line?

I need assistance with geography and determining the slope of a line.

The slope of the line is the difference in y over the difference in x. You want (y_1 - y_2)/(x_1 - x_2) where (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2) are your two points.

The slope of a line is determined by taking the difference in y-values and dividing it by the difference in x-values. A positive quotient means the graph is going upward from the lower left to the upper right. A negative quotient means the opposite, the graph is going down from the upper left to the lower right.
