This the procedure when all the reproductive organs from a female are removed. The uterus, the cervix and the ovaries. After a total hysterectomy a woman can not bear children.

Total hysterectomy refers to whether the cervix is left intact or if it is removed as well. There is also a complete hysterectomy which is a total hysterectomy plus other organs such as ovaries and fallopian tubes are removed as well.

There are many organs involved in a woman's reproductive system. For various reasons sometimes the ovaries are left, sometimes they're not. Generally 'total' means all parts removed.

That is where they go in and remove both of your ovaries, as well as your uterus. They also take your cervix. This procedure will put you in surgical menopause. This means that you will no longer be able to have children. This procedure is common in a person who has endometriosis and/or PCOS.

This is when they take everything out. You will never have a period again or get pregnant. You might have to be on hormone replacement theraphy forever.
