A solid shape is a shape in which its geometry does not form a void and is in long relation to its cross sectional dimensions. So no you don't color it in.

A solid shape is a geometrical shape that has no void, ie emptiness in it, that holds it's shape, so it would be 3 dimensional, not a drawing.
