A screenshot utility basically takes a picture of your screen, making an image out of what you are currently seeing. If you are in windows pressing the "Print Scrn" button on your keyboard will take a screenshot. If you are on a Mac pressing Command-Shift-3 will take a screenshot. Both operating systems save the image on your clipboard.

A screenshot utility is software that helps users take a picture of their computer screen. Examples of this would be "Fireshot" or use the Print Screen button and paste inside of Microsoft Paint.

A screen shot is an image created that shows the full screen of what ever is currently on you monitor. For instance if you press the Prt Scr key on your keyboard it will take a picture of your screen and save it to the clipboard. A third party version will do the same thing but give you more options.
