Many traditions have a sabbath. For those of the Jewish faith, their sabbath is on Friday night to Saturday night. The sabbath is a time to reflect and not do the common ordinary work. There are varying levels of observance. Many people find a sabbath is just what they need.

sabbath is day of rest, usually to worship god and it is common to a lot of religions like Christianity, Judaism etc. It derives from the Hebrew word "shabbat" which means to cease.
