A system ghost is usually a snapshot of the system at the time of ghosting. This can be put on a disk so in the event of a system failure where you'd lose everything, you could revert to the "ghost" on disk to restore everything how it was. I believe Norton has this capability in their newest software suites.

A ghosting disk is an image copy of your computer's hard disk. It is usually reffered to software programs that create this image to be used in case of loss of data on original disk.
