The Indian word for chickpeas is chana. Any recipe with the word chana in it (such as chana saag or chana palak) could work. For example chana palak is a sort of stew-type dish that is delicious over basmati rice. This particular dish contains a bit of curry, turmeric, garlic, chickpeas, and spinach.

Serve hummus (pureed chickpeas/garbanzo beans) mixed with garlic, tahini and tamara. Serve toasted pitas sprinkled with grating cheese (parm, romano, etc) and crudites. Excellent appetizer.

Chickpeas can be used popped like popcorn, ground as a flour to coat fried foods, mashed with spices as cold fillings in the manner of egg salad, and toasted/sugared.
