It is very unusual for Section 8 to not pay a rent timely. It is imperative that you contact your local Section 8 provider immediately if not sooner to ask why the rent was not paid. This situation constitutes an emergency for you and must be handled accordingly.

If your rent is paid by the housing authority, the landlord should contact that office. You can also phone the housing authority to follow-up if the landlord has notified you of a problem.

If the section 8 portion hasn't been paid by the government, then make sure all the paperwork is correct. You can still evict a section 8 tenant for non-payment.

You need to contact your caseworker and check the status of your section 8 to ensure there are no issues.
