Taking vitamin E supplements in excess of 1,000 mg per day can cause bloating, diarrhea, fatigue, and headache. Some studies have shown overdoses of vitamin E can deplete nitrogen-based free radicals, which protect against heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, and even cancer.

Overdosing on vitamin E does not shut down a system of your body. It is very hard to over-consume vitamin E and thus should not be a problem.
